The Light of Love

Love and light are two words that are often connected to each other-I think I can see how that happens.  When you feel love in a deep way; looking at your newborn-or your favorite pet – or someone else you care for – notice how light the room seems to be when you feel that way.  Some people can see the auric field around someone which always has light and colors no less.   When you gaze at the stars as I mentioned in the first blog of the series, or light a candle or notice the Christmas or Holiday lights twinkling in all colors and designs – a kind of love descends.  It just naturally occurs without effort or force.

No matter what is going on in the world,  children are still laughing and playing and pets (especially mine) are joyfully romping without worry or concern.  Easy to say -what do they have to worry about -they are being cared for -but if you look closely you will start to see it’s the true nature showing up perhaps to demonstrate how easy it is to love and be lighthearted.

The most important light is the one you shine as so delightfully evidenced in last week’s musical rendering.  The Love you are is the beginning of knowing what it means to have self-love.  And self-love is incredibly important right now.  Consider the difficulties of our youth right now – the suicide rate – the number of people on mood altering medications – the so called state of the world.  Ask yourself – if we really had self love and understanding, would we be in some of these situations?  It is something that could take a number of blogs to accomplish a definition of self-love- so here is what it is not…it is not self-care (massages, pedicures and such), it is not self-worth (what is my value and to whom?)  It is much more than that.

For starters for the season, lets put love for ourselves and being the light together.  Notice the voice in your head and what it is saying to you -if you hear any criticism or disapproval – pause and change the conversation.  Literally say something nice to yourself and then go on repeat.  Pay attention.  Next notice light – notice where it is and what its effect – notice the sun after some rainey days and see if you don’t feel differently.  Last put them together, call it honoring the season….. the beauty of light and the beauty of you.
